The $50 Film Camera Contest

Alright, all you digi-cam devotees! This photo contest looks really cool. Found it on one of my favorite photo blogs, Epic Edits, and there are some big name sponsors providing prizes.

Basically, buy (or dig out of the closet) a film camera that costs less than $50. Write a review of your new camera. Submit an entire roll of film shot with that camera (yes, entire roll - it doesn't have to be the first roll, but they want to see the failures along with the gems).

That's about it! Deadline is Sept 12th.

Project 365: June 10, 2008

This is from a shoot I did this past winter of a half demolished house near the new I-355 south extension. It was originally black and white film. I used a film scanner in photography class tonight to scan it into the computer for post processing.

My dad. I miss you every day.  

We don't have too many photos of the guy, as he was always behind the camera, not in front of it.

I scanned this photo from the original color negative, then restored it to get rid of dust spots and scratches (the negative is 15 years old and was not stored in a sleeve) and applied selective color.
